Diddy Reportedly Caught Breaking Another Prison Rule

0 25

Sean "Diddy" Combs is now in a low-security prison, as he and his lawyers wanted, but it doesn't sound like everything is going smoothly for the Bad Boy Records founder.

On Friday, TMZ reported that Combs was caught drinking alcohol at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute in New Jersey, where he was transferred on Oct. 30. A rep for the 56-year-old music mogul denied the allegation.

Now, a new report says Combs is also facing potential discipline for making an illegal three-way phone call.

What to know about Combs' jail sentence

  • In September 2024, Combs was indicted on sex trafficking, racketeering and prostitution charges and detained at Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.
  • Back in July, Combs was acquitted of the more serious charges, but found guilty of two prostitution-related offenses.
  • On Oct. 3, U.S. District Court Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Combs to 50 months in prison, including time served.
  • On Oct. 30, Combs was transferred out of Metropolitan Detention Center to Fort Dix, where he is participating in a residential drug treatment program and reportedly has a job as a chaplain's assistant.
  • Combs is scheduled to be released on May 8, 2028.

Diddy accused of another rules violation

The Bureau of Prisons strictly forbids inmates from speaking with multiple people on a call, which is what Combs is accused of doing, according to CBS News.

CBS News reported Monday that Combs made a three-person phone call on Nov. 3, less than a week after arriving at Fort Dix. The disgraced rapper/producer told officials he had been in a conversation with his legal team about making a statement to the New York Times.

The situation began with Combs allegedly calling an unnamed woman, and midway through that conversation, asking to speak with "the digital person" regarding blogs.

"The woman asked Combs if she should add that person to the call and he said 'yes,'" CBS News wrote. "Combs first spoke briefly with the woman about arranging visitors for the weekend and suggested they bring cash — "200 singles." There is no indication as to how he intended to use the money. Prison regulations bar visitors from bringing in currency other than coins for the vending machines."

After the conversation was done, the woman reportedly looped in an unknown male, which violated prison policy.

What might happen to Combs because of this misstep

While Combs says he was merely chatting with his lawyer and the head of legal communications, prison officials are not looking to let him off easy.

Because of this transgression, Combs faces 90 days without phone and commissary privileges. Prison officials filed their ruling on Nov. 4.

"This is a serious offense that shows a disregard for the rules," a source told CBS News.

Combs also claims he was unaware of prison regulations regarding phone use.
