i saw a poacher today.

i was on an unnavigable river, in a nature park with lots of 'no fishing' signs, and I saw this bloke in the bushes/brambles, quite far from the footpath with his tackle and other gear, and I made a point of being quiet, moving to the other side of the river, to avoid getting caught up in his line or (heaven forbid) 'scaring the fish' etc etc, and I tried making eye contact with them, so I could give them a friendly 'nod' but they turned away from me and they were taking a swig out of a big bottle of something (could be water, lets not judge), and I dont want to sound mean, cause I also look like a bit of a bandit, but he did look a bit like a debt collector or someone from jeremy kyle show, and I thought 'ahhh he could be trouble', later when I was heading back, he had gone, but there was load of litter left where he was, bits of newspaper, including a beer can (ok, maybe im a bit judgemental).

im not sure on the rules of angling but if it was allowed in that area or if he had a license, I'd assume he'd be on the footpath.

but who am I to judge, im not licensed either!
