After boating sotars for over 30 years with no problems, I decided to buy a star kima play cat. On its second trip I grazed a rock and put a 3" slit 8n a tube. During the repair process I was amazed at how thin the star fabric is; probably half the thickness of a star. Based on this experience I don't recommend star rafts for serious whitewater use.
