Jake Paul didn’t show much improvement, but beat a washed Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Jake Paul won again, taking a wide unanimous decision victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in a fight that went about like we told you it would.

Chavez (54-7-1, 34 KO) basically didn’t fight for seven rounds, but did turn it up in the last three rounds and land a few decent shots once he started actually throwing punches, with Paul (12-1, 7 KO) having clearly gotten tired, resorting largely to arm punches.

There didn’t seem to be any actual improvement in Paul’s game, and Chavez was worse than ever as a 39-year-old cruiserweight, over a decade and 40 lbs past his best days as a professional boxer.

“I’m him. I’m really him. I just beat your boy’s ass. Easy work,” Paul said, addressing the boos of the Anaheim crowd. “Wait until I get going even more, motherfuckers. You’ll see.”

“He’s a tough, tough guy,” Paul said of Chavez. “He’s never been stopped and he’s a Mexican warrior. I respect Mexican warriors, I respect Mexico, but I’m also a warrior and I came out on top. Really, he just survived, and I thought I did great.”

Paul then possibly became the first person to call out a heavyweight and a lightweight for a fight in the same interview, and also added cruiserweight titleholders Zurdo Ramirez and Badou Jack, as well as Tommy Fury, who did recently fight for the first time since 2023.

“Zurdo looked slow as shit tonight, that’d be easy work, too. Badou Jack, I want everybody. Anthony Joshua. Gervonta. And Tommy (Fury), stop running,” he said.

“I lost the first five rounds, so I tried to win the last five rounds,” Chavez said. “But he’s a good boxer. I felt he was tired, but he’s a good boxer. ... He’s a strong, good boxer. The first three, four rounds — after that, I felt he was tired. I don’t think he’s ready for the champions, but he’s a good fighter.”

Chavez said he does plan to keep fighting.
