Earlier today former 3-weight world champion Koki Kameda held a press conference to announce that Filipino sensation Kenneth Llover (14-0, 9) had signed a deal with 3150 x Lushbombu, who will now serve as co-promoter to the “Lover Boy”.
The unbeaten Filipino, who is 22 years old, has been a professional since 2020, and has really been making his name over the last 2 years. During that time he has beaten the likes of Edward Heno, Tulio Dekanarudo and Keita Kurihara, scored back to back wins in Japan, and claimed the OPBF Bantamweight title. He is now being dubbed “Pacquiao II” by some and the hard hitting Southpaw looks to be the next big thing from the Philippines.
At the press conference it was revealed that former world champion Gerry Penalosa is Llover's manager and that 3150 x Lushbomu along with Penalosa will look to build Llover's profile in both Japan and the Philippines, whilst moving him towards a world title fight. Penalosa stated "We received a wonderful offer from Koki Kameda, founder of 3150 x LUSHBOMU. Mr. Kameda is a three-division champion himself, understands the feelings of boxers, and is a great promoter who has held many world championships in Japan. I think we have also managed to get a wonderful contract for Kenneth. I hope to work with Mr. Kameda to lead Kenneth to become a world champion."
As for Kameda himself, he stated "I am grateful to Mr. Peñalosa and Llover for signing a contract. With Kenneth Llover, who is the greatest talent in Philippine boxing today. Llover is a very talented fighter, and I have heard that he is a dedicated trainer. I am convinced that he will become the bantamweight world champion in the near future, so I would like to challenge him in the world battle in the bantamweight class, which is currently monopolized by Japanese fighters."
At the moment it’s unclear when Llover’s next bout will be, but he is currently the OPBF Bantamweight champion and is world ranked by the WBC and IBF, with Kameda potentially looking to move him up the rankings to land a world title fight in 2026 or 2027, something that isn't crazy given how Kameda looks to fast track fighters under his promotional banner.
