Devin Haney says we’ll see the best version of him ever tonight against Jose Ramirez.

Devin Haney returns tonight to face Jose Ramirez in a 12-round welterweight bout, though much of the talk from and around Haney and his father Bill is centered on a potential rematch later this year with Ryan Garcia.

Haney (31-0, 15 KO) and Garcia (24-1, 20 KO) both have not fought since their incredibly controversial fight just over a year ago, where Garcia scored three knockdowns and a decision win, which was later changed to a no contest when Ryan failed his post-fight drug test.

Haney is again promising we’ll see a new and improved version of himself against Ramirez (29-2, 18 KO).

“I feel better than ever. I’m gonna shine,” Haney said on Friday. “This is gonna be the best performance you’ve ever seen from me. He’s gonna get hurt.

“It all starts with Jose, and once I get past Jose, I’m gonna get to Ryan.”

Garcia will face Rolly Romero in the main event from Times Square, right after Haney vs Ramirez. Most likely, both have to win to make their desired rematch official, though plans may be in place to make it happen either way, which would not be the first time something works out that way in boxing.
