Frank Warren believes a showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is what everyone wants to see.

Tyson Fury is known to be a man who will change his mind rather frequently, so it’s no wonder that many people questioned whether or not his most recent retirement announcement was in earnest. Just recently rumors are starting to circulate about another potential return to the ring for Fury, who has posted videos of himself back in training.

Queensberry promoter Frank Warren tells Sky Sports that he hasn’t had any specific discussions with Tyson Fury about coming back to fight again, but that he’s certain a potential showdown with Anthony Joshua must be tempting.

“That would tempt all of us, to get him to do it,” Warren said of a fight between Fury and Joshua. “That’s the fight everybody wants to see, a generational fight. I know AJ wants it, Tyson at one stage did want it and we were close but it didn’t happen. You never know what can happen in boxing.”

Fury and Joshua have long had their names linked together regarding a prospective clash between the British giants, but the fight has never seemed to get done — at least not just yet. The potential for both fighters to square off remains perhaps the most commercially viable option for either of the two heavyweights, who are both coming off losses.

And while Fury may not necessarily need the money at this point of his life, he’ll always be a ‘fighting man’ as his promoter puts it, and therefore you can’t count out his desire to get back in the ring.
