Former UFC heavyweight champ booked for Dirty Boxing debut
Dirty Boxing’s first official event has added a familiar face to longtime UFC fans.
The promotion announced Thursday that Andrei Arlovski will compete in his first fight since parting ways with the UFC at DBX 1 on March 22 in Miami. The former UFC heavyweight champion is set to square off against Terrance Hodges at the event.
Arlovski, who recently turned 46, makes his promotional debut after losing his fourth consecutive octagon appearance, a split decision against Martin Buday at UFC 303 this past June. “Pitbull” competed in 42 UFC bouts over multiple runs with the promotion, including his most recent stint that lasted a decade.
Hodges is also set to make his first appearance for Dirty Boxing. The 40-year-old has competed in multiple disciplines throughout his career, including a decision loss to current UFC heavyweight Mohammad Usman for Titan FC, and a TKO loss to current UFC light heavyweight Dustin Jacoby in a boxing match.
DBX 1 is headlined by a heavyweight contest between Yoel Romero and Ras Hylton. The promotion is part-owned by BKFC superstar, and former UFC fighter Mike Perry.
