What is Lyndon Arthur’s boxing record and when is his next fight?

0 13

LYNDON ‘King’ Arthur is a British boxer and former IBO light-heavyweight champ.

He’s back in action in June 2024 against Liam Cameron — here’s everything you need to know about Lyndon’s career and record.

Lyndon Arthur put on a brave performance against Dimitry Bivol in December 2023, ultimately losing the fight convincingly

Who is Lyndon Arthur?

Lyndon Arthur is a 33-year-old boxer from Manchester.

He made his professional debut in September 2016, scoring a four-round points decision over Andy Neylon at the Manchester Arena.

In his 16th fight on October 12, 2019, Lyndon lifted the vacant Commonwealth light-heavyweight title by defeating Emmanuel Anim.

On December 5, 2020, Lyndon beat Anthony Yarde via split decision to retain his title, while also picking up the vacant WBO Inter-Continental light-heavyweight belt.

However, on December 4, 2021, Yarde was victorious in the rematch, winning via a brutal knockout in the fourth round.

Lyndon is also a former IBO light-heavyweight champion, lifting the vacant title by knocking out Braian Nahuel Suarez with a vicious body shot on September 1, 2023.

His biggest fight to date came when the Mancunian failed in his attempt to dethrone light-heavyweight king Dimitry Bivol in Suadi Arabia on December 23, 2023 — but he did give the pound-for-pound legend one of the biggest scares of his reign.

He was a huge underdog in taking on the WBA champion, who dominated Canelo Alvarez in a performance-of-2022 contender, and Lyndon lost a wide decision in the end.

What is Lyndon Arthur’s boxing record?

Lyndon’s impressive boxing record is 23-2-0.

This means he has fought 25 bouts, winning 23, losing two and drawing none.

He has won 16 of his fights by knockout, giving him a KO percentage of 69.6.

When is Lyndon Arthur’s next fight?

Lyndon returns to the ring on Friday, June 21, 2024, as he takes on compatriot Liam Cameron.

The bout will be contested at light-heavyweight and is his first fight since losing to Bivol in December.

Anthony Yarde got his revenge over Lyndon Arthur with a four-round demolition job

Cameron came out of retirement after five years away from boxing in 2023 and will be looking to provide the upset.

But with Lyndon looking to get back into world title contention, he’s not going to be eager to let his hopes slip at the hands of an underdog.

The bout will be held at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, home Bolton Wanderers, with ring walks for the main event expected to commence at around 10.30pm BST.

Arthur vs. Cameron will be shown live on Channel 5 and My5 — the channel’s streaming service — in the UK.
