All fighters on the card made weight save for Hasibullah Ahmadi

The weight difference for tomorrow’s undisputed heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will be a bit less pronounced than expected. “The Gypsy King” hit the scales this morning at 262 pounds, more than 15 pounds lighter than in last year’s near-disaster against Francis Ngannou and his lightest since weighing in at 254.5 against Otto Wallin in 2019. Usyk’s 233.5, meanwhile, leaves him a full 12 pounds heavier than in any prior bout.

It’s an interesting gamble from both men. Fury’s (34-0-1, 24 KO) size and Usyk’s (21-0, 14 KO) fluidity were seen key weapons, but rather than lean into them, it appears they’ve each decided to potentially compromise their strengths for the sake of shoring up weaknesses.

UPDATE: As it turns out, Michael Buffer announced the weight incorrectly. Usyk is, in fact, at 223.5, still a career high but only by two pounds instead of 12.

As for the rest of the lineup, everyone made weight except for Hasibullah Ahmadi, who came in nearly two pounds over the featherweight limit for his showdown with Isaac Lowe. Frank Sanchez and Agit Kabayel also somehow came in at the exact same weight of 238.5, which means nothing but is kinda neat.
