British boxing legend Lennox Lewis says he is ‘CONCERNED’ for Jake Paul after warning over Mike Tyson’s brutal power

LENNOX LEWIS is more concerned for Jake Paul than 57-year-old Mike Tyson in the controversial fight for the ages.

The heavyweight icon and YouTuber-turned-boxer are to collide in a shock showdown on July 20 in Texas.

It will be 20 YEARS removed from the last time Tyson fought as a professional and over two decades since Lewis won their 2002 clash.

And concern has been raised for Iron Mike’s health and safety following the news the bout is to be officially sanctioned.

But Lewis – who knocked Tyson out in round eight of their £35million fight – believes prankster-gone-prizefighter Paul is the one in trouble.

He told The Guardian: “I’m concerned for Jake Paul. Tyson still knows how to punch, as you can see when he’s hitting a bag.

“If Jake Paul gets hit by one of those punches, he’s going to feel it. I know Jake Paul doesn’t want to get hit.

“Tyson comes forward and he knows how to cut off the ring. It could be a matter of time, as how good is Jake Paul’s defence?

“I saw Mike a couple of weeks ago and he looked good. He was walking around without a shirt and showing off his body so he’s getting ready.”

Tyson was last in the ring for a 2020 exhibition with Roy Jones Jr which ended in a draw.

His boxing career officially ended in 2005 following dismal defeats to Danny Williams and Kevin McBride, who is now a tree surgeon.

But he will prepare to put his illustrious record on the line following the news his bout with Paul is to be officially sanctioned.

There will be revised rules, though, with the pair fighting in bigger 14oz gloves opposed to 10oz and over eight, two not three minute rounds.

Paul is 9-1 as a boxer having suffered defeat only to Tyson Fury’s 25-year-old brother Tommy in Saudi Arabia last year.

But the American, 27, has won three times since and prepares to face Tyson in his first heavyweight fight.

Lewis was linked with a rematch against Tyson under exhibition rules as he opened up on those trying to prise him back in the ring aged 58.

He said: “Yeah, they do. But, as my friend says, I ain’t no fool.

“I was seeing if I could catch you out there. For me, money talks, bulls**** walks…

“That’s what I’m saying. I’d 100 per cent consider it.”
