Fighters make weight for exciting South Korean show!

0 1
Tomorrow in South Korea fight fans will get a treat as Masayuki Ito’s Treasure Boxing Promotions put on a mouth watering card. Today, ahead of that stacked card, we had the weigh ins, with all the men involved in the main bouts making weight without any issues.

The most notable of the three main bouts will be a rematch as former 2-weight champion Hiroto Kyoguchi (18-1, 12) [京口紘人] faces Filipino Vince Paras (20-2-1, 15), a man he actually defended the IBF Minimumweight title against in 2018. These two, fighting in a scheduled 10 rounder at Flyweight, both came in at an identical weight of 111.8lbs, comfortably under the limit. The feeling is that the winner of this bout will challenge for a world title later in the year, with Kyoguchi looking to win a third world title and Paras looking to claim his first title, after putting up a good effort but losing to Kyoguchi back when he was just 19.

The chief support bout on the show will see Kazuto Takesako (16-1-1, 15) [竹迫司登] defending the OPBF Middleweight title against 37 year old Tej Pratap Singh (18-7-3-1, 8). On the scales the champion came in at 159.6lbs, comfortably under the limit. Singh on the other hand was 158.7lbs, well under the limit. Given Singh was 166.5lbs for his last fight, which was a loss in a WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight title bout, it's going to be interesting to see how he performance here, in what is the lightest weight he's been since 2018.

The third most notable bout on the card will see former WBO Minimumweight champion Masataka Taniguchi (17-4, 11) [谷口将隆] take on highly experienced Filipino Jaysever Abcede (22-13, 13). On the scales Taniguchi was 107.8lbs whilst Abcede was slightly lighter at 107.6lbs.

For fans wanting to watch this show, it will be streamed in Japan on U-Next.
