Firuza Sharipova to get world title shot against Katie Taylor!

Earlier today British promoter Eddie Hearn announced the next defense for Irish female boxing star Katie Taylor (19-0, 6), who will be risking her WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF and Ring Magazine female Lightweight titles on December 11th, at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, as she takes on Kazakh challenger Firuza Sharipova (14-1, 8) [фируза шарипова].
For the now 35 year old Taylor this will be her third fight of the year, and follows a tough fight with Natasha Jonas in May and a wide, but hard fought, win over Jennifer Han in September. Although she has started to show some signs of slow down, she is still, clearly, one of the elite female fighters on the planet, and maybe even the best pound-for-pound female boxer out there.
During her 19 fight career Taylor has not just unified all 4 major world titles, but has beaten a genuine who's who, with wins over Viviane Obenauf, Anahi Ester Sanchez, Jessica McCaskill, Victoria Noelia Bustos, Eva Wahlstrom and Delfine Persoon
As for the challenger, who's 27, she was once touted as a bright hope for Kazakhstan, though in recent years her career has become a joke. She has had a lot of press inches, but a lot of it seemed to be the press covering her more as an attractive celebrity rather than a boxer. This lead to a Kazakh betting website putting up some special bets regarding her, including her fighting Vladimir Putin, Ramzan Kadyrov or Habib Nurmagomedov and featuring in Playboy. They also gave her odds of 50/1 to become an undisputed world champion, something she now has the chance to become.
Coming into this she has won 14 bouts in a row, but they have been over some dreadful competition, including Happy Daudi who looked like she was in a fight for the first time in her life.
