The Magramo brothers, Giemel and Arvin, trounced their respective rivals Saturday night, October 23, to capture regional titles at the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.

Asserting his mastery of Jayr Raquinel, Giemel won by lopsided unanimous decision, 118-110, 119-109, 115-113, and clinch the vacant Oriental Pacific Boxing Federation flyweight belt in the main event of Boksing Kontra Droga.

The 27-year-old Giemel, who is trying to climb back into the elite circle after being knocked out by Japanese Junto Nakatani in their battle for the World Boxing Organization flyweight crown on November 6, 2020, climbed to 25-2 with 21 knockouts.

Raquinel saw his two-knockout streak break and drop to 12-2-1.

Arvin, three years younger than Giemel, stopped Jerry Francisco in the second round of the chief support to capture the vacant World Boxing Organization light flyweight belt.

A heavy-handed southpaw, Arvin caught Francisco with a hard right hook to the jaw to raise his record to 13-1-1 with 9 knockouts. Francisco, also 24 of Antipas, Cotabato, fell to 9-2, 2 knockouts.

Earlier, Juan Miguel Elorde posted a unanimous decision over Aroel Romasasa in his first fight since being stopped by WBO super bantamweight champion Emanuel Navarrete on September 14, 2019.

Elorde, son of event promoter Johnny and Liza, rose to 29-2 with 15 knockouts. Romasasa slid to 11-10. – Rappler.com
