Colby Covington continues to deny that he broke his jaw during his UFC 245 title fight with Kamaru Usman in 2019.

According to an in-depth post-fight examination conducted by the UFC’s medical staff, Colby Covington suffered a “non-displaced midline mandible fracture in his UFC 245 title fight with Kamaru Usman. These findings essentially established initial reports stating that “Chaos” had broken his jaw mid-bout.

Covington nonetheless denied sustaining such injuries and continues to do so to this day.

“Nothing was broken,” Covington told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto in a recent sitdown. “The only thing that was broken was Marty’s pride that night because he doesn’t want to run this back in round two and he got forced to.

“And now, November 6th, I’mma take everything he’s worked for his entire life. And he’s got nothing left to show for it.”

An image of Covington’s supposed x-ray circulated online to support reports of a broken jaw. But the 33-year-old fighter, who admittedly dials things up and plays a character to market himself, claims it’s all just a demolition job from his haters.

“It was just a bad Photoshop and that’s just the trolls, the people that hate me the most because they hate my success,” he said. “They hate that I’m in this position, they hate that I’m doing better than them in life.

“They want to try and discredit me and they wanna downplay my accomplishments and the media ran with it. ‘Oh, broken jaw, it wasn’t competitive!’ This fake x-ray that came… that’s not even a real x-ray.”

Covington will get another chance at UFC gold when he faces Kamaru Usman in a rematch at UFC 268 on November 6th in New York City.
