Dana White didn’t stick around for the UFC 266 post-fight press conference on Saturday night, but he still made time to fire back at former boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya.

Just minutes after the main event ended in Las Vegas, De La Hoya took to Twitter with a message sent to featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski following a unanimous decision win against Brian Ortega.

The former boxing champion took aim at the paycheck that Volkanovski will take home after engaging in a five round battle with Ortega to retain his 145-pound title.

“Hey Alexander Volkanovski, you just won a brutal battle for UFC and made 1/20 of what you’re worth,” De La Hoya wrote. “Dana White, have some f*cking respect for yourself and these fighters and pay these warriors what they deserve.”

Well despite calling it an early night from the event, White wasted no time responding to De La Hoya while taking a personal shot at the boxer after he was recently booked for a fight against former UFC champion Vitor Belfort but then dropped out after testing positive for COVID-19.

“Shut the f*ck up crack head,” White wrote. “Faking that you had COVID and robbing me of watching you get knocked the f*ck out by Vitor Belfort. You should win an academy award for your hospital performance.”

This is just the latest in a long series of volatile messages between White and De La Hoya that dates back to the boxing match scheduled between former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.

Prior to that matchup coming together, White and De La Hoya were essentially friends but that all changed when the head of Golden Boy promotions blasted McGregor and Mayweather for booking a fight with a mixed martial artist taking on arguably one of the greatest boxers of the past 50 years.

That led to a series of interviews and social media interactions with White and De La Hoya unleashing on each other and the relationship has only gotten more toxic in recent years.

This latest incident will only feed into that rivalry as De La Hoya took a shot at the UFC over fighter pay, which has become a common complaint for many athletes outside the promotion including YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul.

Now De La Hoya has jumped into the mix as well with White offering his fiery retort in response.
