Hopefully Devin Clark has a good dentist.

Devin Clark is going to need a dentist following his unanimous decision loss to Ion Cutelaba at UFC Vegas 37 on Saturday night.

Clark was dominated by Cutelaba from bell to bell and was nearly finished in the first and second rounds. In a display of sheer toughness, the’ Brown Bear’ managed to survive the onslaught delivered by the ‘Hulk,’ but there was a moment where the fight was at risk of being stopped in between rounds.

Toward the end of the second round, Cutelaba had Clark pressed up against the cage and attempted to secure another takedown. With his head hanging relatively low, Clark was blasted with a vicious knee to the jaw that appeared to bother him. A few more seconds expired from the clock, and another knee from Cutelaba connected to his jaw, and this time, blood was drawn. The round ended, and Clark immediately knew something was wrong with his mouth as he dropped an f-bomb before walking over to his corner.

Clarke explained to his corner that there was an issue with his teeth and conferred with them on whether he should continue fighting, which they ultimately elected to do. Although his teeth were not visible during the broadcast, UFC photographer Jeff Bottari took a photo of Clarke following the fight’s conclusion, and he did indeed have an issue.

The bottom three teeth of Clark were now at an angle and pushed back in their very own row, separated from the rest of his teeth. Don’t believe me? Check out the photo below and see for yourselves.

There has been no update on the condition of Clark yet, but I think it is safe to say he needs some serious dental work done before he can make his next appearance in the Octagon. He is now on a career-first two-fight losing streak, having lost to Anthony Smith via first-round triangle choke in his previous outing.

Cutelaba returned to the win column but was actually unhappy with the damage done to Clark. During his post-fight press conference, he was asked if he saw the photo of Clark’s teeth and Cutelaba was not thrilled.

“It’s very, very… yeah, I looked and I’m not happy,” said Cutelaba (video provided by MMA Junkie). “I’m not happy.”
