Check out the midweek betting odds for Saturday’s UFC 265 event, where Ciryl Gane is quite favored over Derrick Lewis in the main event.

UFC 265 sets sail this Saturday night (August 7th) from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas with top-5 heavyweights gracing the main event, and a featherweight G.O.A.T. looking to extend his legacy in the bantamweight division in the co-main. We’ve got the UFC’s #2 ranked Derrick Lewis throwing down with the #3 ranked Ciryl Gane in the featured matchup, with the winner capturing an arbitrary interim title — and then it’s Jose Aldo taking on the UFC’s #9 ranked bantamweight, Pedro Munhoz, before that. Bloody Elbow is here to provide the betting lines for these stellar bouts, as well as for the rest of the UFC 265 lineup.

Despite Lewis enjoying a four-fight winning streak, on top of holding a wealth of experience over his adversary, the oddsmakers are favoring the 9-0 undefeated Gane here. The French fighter is sporting a heavily favored moneyline of -400, with a winning $100 bet only returning $25, plus your initial hundo back. As fr the Houston native, Derrick is rocking a sizable underdog value of +300. That means dropping a bill on Lewis could potentially get you a total payout of $400.

It’s understandable why Gane is the betting favorite here, but this line seems a bit wide. Ciryl has been lights out thus far in his career. He’s already hit a heavyweight heel hook, KO’d an aged Junior dos Santos, and took decisive wins over Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Alexander Volkov. His technical skills have been on full display, and he definitely seems to be a more polished striker than Lewis.

Derrick has an impressive resume, though. Like it or not, he ‘beat’ the current undisputed heavyweight champ, Francis N’Gannou. The names under his belt are only eclipsed by his ever-present superhuman strength. Not only does it just take one of his bolos to land, but he also has the ability to sniff out that kill shot in any round over the course of 25-minutes. Gane must remain defensively responsible for every second that the fight goes on.

Let’s take a quick look at the UFC 265 co-main event. When the odds first dropped for this matchup, former featherweight king Jose Aldo was a -138 betting favorite, to Pedro Munhoz’s initial offering of +115. Since then, an influx of coin on Pedro has sent his moneyline into minus territory at -108, and brought Jose’s line close to even money at -112. Looks like you’re late to the party if you were hoping to get Munhoz at plus odds. This should be a banger to say the least, and the odds properly reflect how close of a fight it should pan out to be.
