Chisora threatens to pull out of Parker fight if he’s forced to walk out first

What would Chisora fight be without some pre-fight antics.

Derek Chisora is set to take on Joseph Parker tomorrow in Manchester but as per usual for Chisora, he’s riling up some pre-fight controversy over the order of the ring walks for the fight. Following today’s official weigh-in, Chisora and Parker got into a dispute (more from Chisora’s end) over the suggestion that both fighters flip a coin to see who gets to come out to the ring second.

That, for Chisora, is completely unacceptable, and he even made it a point to say that he’s willing to walk away from the fight right now if he’s not allowed to walk second.

“We’re arguing right now, back there. They want to do a coin flip, who comes in the ring first and who comes in the ring second. I was like, ‘Nah, not doing that.’ Either I come in second or I’ll go home right now!”

Chisora’s manager David Haye would later chime-in on the seemingly ridiculous threat, acknowledging that it doesn’t really make any sense but that Chisora is just a stubborn man who doesn’t care and would be willing to withdraw at the last moment.

“I genuinely can’t see the fight happening, if Derek is told to come first. I know it makes zero sense. He agreed it, he signed the contract. He’s just that guy, he doesn’t care, and unfortunately that’s just the way it is.”

It should be noted that this isn’t the first time Chisora has made these sort of threats, insisting that he be able to come to the ring last, but it seems to me this is more of a ploy to get under Parker’s skin more than anything else.
