Notes: Ergashev won a tune-up last Tuesday in Russia, stopping his opponent after two rounds. He won the two rounds, then the opponent due to an injury. Nothing changes, but he got a camp in and picked up another win, so should be available for something bigger early in 2021.

Notes: Fortuna got a win on Saturday, completely dominating Antonio Lozada in an FS1 fight nobody watched. There’s not a ton you can take from fights like that — Lozada is not nearly as good as “once upset Felix Verdejo” or his W-L record would make you think — but Fortuna did what he should have done with that sort of fight, which is show his superiority and smash an over-matched foe instead of fiddling around. Fortuna wasn’t trying to get rounds in, he came out firing at Lozada and eventually got him out. All things considered — like the realities of boxing politics and all that — he’d be a fine next opponent for Teofimo or Haney or Tank. We’d all like something more, like two of those three fighting one another, but I’ve given up on sincerely hoping for the best things in boxing to happen. Sometimes they will, most times they won’t. When they won’t, I just hope for something decent.
