Female flyweight title challenger Jennifer Maia wants to do to Valentina Shevchenko what Holly Holm did to Ronda Rousey.

The next female flyweight title challenger expects to shock the world against dominant champion Valentina Shevchenko. Similarly to how Holly Holm dethroned Ronda Rousey in spectacular fashion in 2015, the Brazilian plans to do the same to ‘Bullet’ in November at UFC 255.

In an interview with Ag Fight, Jennifer explained how she believes the time has come for someone to show that Shevchenko is not invicinble at flyweight. The way Maia sees it, she might as well be the one to prove that point with a historic performance of her own.

“Nobody is invincible. I feel so ready that, if there’s someone who can beat her at the moment, I feel like it’s me. I feel like the that has come to prove (that nobody is invincible). It’s time to show it by beating her. It’s time to show she was able to be the champion for a while, but there will always come the time to lose.”

“I’ve been wacthing that fight a lot (Holly Holm vs. Ronda Rousey).” Maia continued. “Everyone thought that it was impossible for Ronda to lose. Holly went out there and surprised the world with a beautiful knockout. I look at that fight as an inspiration to surprise the world, just like Holly did a while ago.”

In her last outing, Maia (18-6-1) tapped out Joanne Calderwood via armbar back in August. Before that, the 32-year-old dropped a unanimous decision to former title challenger Katlyn Chookagian.

Now, Maia is expected to challenge Shevchenko’s title at UFC 255’s co-main event, on November 21. The card is scheduled to be headlined by a male flyweight title fight, between the champion, Deiveson Figueiredo and contender Alex Perez.
