Idris Elba banned from boxing after mum & wife demand he ‘cut that nonsense out’
HE’S a tough guy actor but there are two people Idris Elba won’t cross — his mum and wife.
The actor says partner Sabrina and mother Eve have banned him boxing.
He wanted to get back in the ring after a successful first pro kickboxing match in 2016.
But a fight with the two women in his life was one he couldn’t win and he’s now thrown in the towel.
On fighting, Idris said: “I really did think about developing an idea (for a film) around an ageing fighter, which means I will get back into the ring.
“But my wife was not good with the idea and neither was my mum. They are like, ‘Cut that nonsense out’.”
Luther star Idris, also a DJ and rapper, had the bout in London’s York Hall with Madonna watching.
In a chat with fellow Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey on streaming site Fane, he said: “The idea of going back (fighting) excites me but I don’t need to fight some kid again.”
He has been working on Elba’s Fight School for the BBC, teaching disadvantaged kids life lessons through boxing, so his timing isn’t great.
Bella a vinyl single

“I was thinking about buying my masters, but I realised that’s too small of a thought.
“I’m gonna buy Universal. They’re only a $33billion organisation.”
In a candid interview with podcast Joe Rogan Experience that ran for three hours he suggested he backed conspiracy theories that pop stars Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Prince and martial arts stars Bruce Lee and his son Brandon were killed.
And the passionate Jesus Walks star even weighed in on the debate over the Star Wars prequels and sequels, saying he was a much bigger fan of the former.
Kanye insisted the films made by creator George Lucas had much more quality than those made after Disney bought the movie franchise in the 2012.
He said: “I’m saying the prequels are better than anything and I’m sorry Disney/Star Wars design team, no man, this is George. This is his baby.
“That thing was set in his heart to show us as children to show us the hero’s journey.”
No topic is off-limits for Yeezy, but given he’s running for US president, maybe he should focus on that instead.
