Navarrete-Horta: Live coverage, 9 pm ET
Emanuel Navarrete and Jerwin Ancajas look to close 2019 with successful title defenses in Mexico.
Tonight at 9 pm ET streaming live on ESPN+, Emanuel Navarrete and Jerwin Ancajas will return in a world title doubleheader from Puebla, Mexico, defending their belts at 122 and 115 pounds, respectively.
Navarrete will be fighting for the fifth time 12 months, and the third time since Aug. 17, as he takes on Francisco Horta, an opponent who would at best be considered a fringe contender.
Being honest, that’s pretty much the case for Ancajas, too, as he takes on Chile’s Miguel Gonzalez, who had a WBA eliminator this past March at home, but was thrashed by Andrew Moloney. He has won two straight since against lower-level foes.
The show will also feature featherweight Miguel Marriaga in action against Alfredo Mejia.
Main Card (ESPN+, 9:00 pm ET)
- Emanuel Navarrete (29-1, 25 KO) vs Francisco Horta (20-3-1, 10 KO), super bantamweights, 12 rounds
- Jerwin Ancajas (31-1-2, 21 KO) vs Miguel Gonzalez (31-2, 8 KO), super flyweights, 12 rounds
- Miguel Marriaga (28-3, 24 KO) vs Alfredo Mejia (14-2-3, 5 KO), featherweights, 8 rounds
- Silvia Torres (20-1-2, 7 KO) vs Gabriela Sanchez (6-3, 0 KO), junior flyweights, 8 or 10 rounds
