In Duck Seo to get regional title fight in September!

0 14
The lightly regarded Korean Boxing Association (KBA) announced that they will be sanctioning a show in September and although their shows tend to be rather poor the September one actually looks like it could be somewhat solid.

The supposed main event will see Unbeaten Korean Bo Mi Re Shin (7-0-3, 3) [신보미레] take on Chinese visitor Jinyan Gao (2-0, 2), in what will be a WIBA Super Featherweight title defense for the local.

Shin made her debut in 2016 and despite starting her career 3-0-3 she has since reeled off 4 straight wins, including a notable TKO win over Chika Mizutani and a decision win over Rupinder Kaur for the WIBA title. On the other hand Gao made her debut in 2017, but has completely failed to remain active, with her last bout coming in September 2018, almost a year after her debut.

Whilst the main event isn't a hugely appealing bout the co-feature is and will see In Duck Seo (12-1-2, 7) [서인덕] look to build on his big KO win against Tysinn Best (10-1, 3) in June as he takes on Uzbek Khusniddin Pulatov (7-3, 5) for the WBA Asia Welterweight title.

For Seo this will be his first chance to pick up an international title, and really will give him a great chance to build on the highlight reel KO of Best in Australia. It is however a tough ask and a win would clearly be his second most impressive, behind the win over Best. As for Pulatov the fight sees him dropping down in weight, from Light Middleweight where he already holds the WBA Asia title as he looks to score his 6th straight win, following a trio of setbacks in 2017.

Sadly at the moment no details of the broadcast coverage for these two bouts has been revealed, though it does seem almost certain the KBA will make them available in the days following the bout.
