Malignaggi tries to bonk Lobov with mic at opening presser

This press conference got zany fast.

With the official announcement that retired boxer Paulie Malignaggi will be taking on MMA’s Artem Lobov in a bare knuckle fight on June 22, the two fighter’s held their opening press conference today.

That went about as well as you’d might expect, with Malignaggi starting off by taunting Lobov about slapping him early last month. When Lobov responded to Malignaggi by daring him to slap him again, Malignaggi went all slapstick comedy on us, trying to bonk Lobov on the head with his microphone like a scene out of The Three Stooges.

When the folks on stage quickly intervened to keep the fighters from one another, Malignaggi quickly continued with his trash talk, encouraging fans to take a good look at Lobov’s face now, before he rearranges it on fight night.
