UFC hilariously trolls Ben Askren with UFC 235 photo
Whoever is running the UFC’s social media deserves an immediate title shot.
Ben Askren has been trolling Dana White for years, but the UFC’s social media person has plenty of smoke.
Eagle-eyed readers perusing UFC.com may notice something peculiar under the events tab. It seems whoever runs the website has yet to upload a photo of Ben Askren. The UFC 235 section shows a portrait of Robbie Lawler next to a generic black portrait of his opponent.
“Hey UFC, when you gonna take the time to put a picture in this placeholder?” Askren tweeted on Wednesday.
Hey @ufc when you gonna take the time to put a picture in this placeholder??? pic.twitter.com/PAOBZkPwaW

Cue the UFC’s social media person with a brilliant response. “Fixed it,” the official Twitter handle replied. Included in the tweet is a portrait of Askren and his trademark afro, but the image is still blacked out.

The tweet met with the approval of UFC fans, generating 11,000 likes in three-and-a-half hours.
Even Askren was amused, retweeting the photo above and engaging in some pleasant back-and-forth with the promotion’s Twitter account.
You got it, dude. pic.twitter.com/6hAIFh92CU

UFC 235 takes place on March 2 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jon Jones defends his UFC light-heavyweight title against Anthony Smith in the main event. Tyron Woodley meets Kamaru Usman in a welterweight championship co-main event. Askren will make his UFC debut against Robbie Lawler.
