AR-15, pain meds, and vodka bottle allegedly in Bonnar’s car during DUI arrest
UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar was charged with felony DUI in Las Vegas on Sunday.
UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar, 41, was arrested over the weekend and charged with felony driving under the influence (DUI). Bonnar was arrested on the side of Interstate 15 in Las Vegas, after he had been restrained by other drivers. Those drivers had used their vehicles to force Bonnar, who they alleged was speeding and changing lanes erratically, to pull off to the side of the road.
Yesterday, KTNV released body-cam footage from Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) which shows the moment law enforcement removed Bonnar from his car. The video shows Bonnar unresponsive in the driver’s seat with his arms bound with improvised restraints.

After removing the restraints NHP troopers dragged Bonnar to the ground. They, along with witnesses, pinned Bonnar until he could be handcuffed behind his back. According to KTNV the NHP also put leg restraints on Bonnar before placing him in a patrol SUV.
Reportedly, NHP troopers found an AR-15 rifle inside the vehicle Bonnar was driving, as well as an empty bottle of Smirnoff vodka and a bottle of prescription pain relievers (Celecoxib).
KTNV reports that Bonnar was previously charged with DUIs in April 2015 and June 2016 and that he has a criminal history of battery and domestic battery charges. In Nevada felony DUI is punishable by up to $5,000 in fines and a prison sentence of 1-6 years. Bonnar is considered innocent of all charges until proven guilty.
