Jackson: ‘I’ve got to fight the perfect fight’

0

Underdog Luke Jackson knows he’s got to be better than ever against Carl Frampton.

Australia’s Luke Jackson is now just two days out from his big shot in Belfast against interim WBO featherweight titleholder Carl Frampton, and admits that he has to be perfect in order to get the win.

He also says, though, that Frampton simply cannot afford the loss.

“I think he understands what’s at stake. If he loses to me his career is pretty much over. I’ve got to fight the perfect fight. I believe I can do that.”

Jackson (16-0, 7 KO) is actually the older of the two fighters at 33 compared to Frampton at 31, but he’s the far less experienced pro, as this is, as we’ve said repeatedly but can’t be ignored, a massive step up in competition for him. It’s a big leap from fighting nothing but journeymen and club fighters to taking on a world class opponent, not to mention doing so on the road in Frampton’s hometown.
