White on Diaz’ antics: ‘I have no idea’ what he’s talking about

Dana White has ‘no idea’ what Nate Diaz was implying with his latest controversial tweet.

Trust Stockton’s own Nate Diaz to a throw a spanner in the works after the UFC’s successful 25th Anniversary press conference.

Yesterday, in Los Angeles, Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that Diaz would return to the Octagon to face surging lightweight contender Dustin Poirier at UFC 230 on November 3.

Shortly after, Dana White dropped a bombshell announcement: Conor McGregor will return to action at UFC 229 to challenge the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov for the official lightweight title. The highly anticipated bout will take place on October 6 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

During the UFC’s promo for Khabib vs. McGregor, Diaz abruptly left the press conference and tweeted ‘f-k the UFC’. The younger Diaz brother says he will not be fighting at UFC 230, and head president White has ‘no idea’ what he’s talking about.

“I have no idea,” a cheerful White said when asked by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto about Diaz’ mysterious tweet. “We have a guy who works here at the UFC who loves the Diaz brothers and he wanted to get this fight done. He wanted to do this, he thought it was time that Nate Diaz wanted to come back. This is his problem, not mine.”

Following Diaz’ tweet, the controversial star put Khabib and McGregor on blast and called them his ‘little bitches’. Diaz claims to have ‘slapped’ Nurmagomedov and punked his team in two earlier altercations with the Russian.

Diaz or no Diaz, UFC 230 is expected to take place on November 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York. White said it ‘makes sense’ that the winner of Diaz-Poirier would go on to face the winner of Khabib-McGregor.
