UFC 216 weigh-in results and video: Kevin Lee needs two tries to make 155

0

Drama at the UFC 216 weigh-ins, as Kevin Lee made weight at the last minute for Saturday’s interim lightweight title fight vs. Tony Ferguson.

Kevin Lee said on Thursday that he was at 174 pounds, leaving him with 19 pounds to cut to make the lightweight limit for Saturday’s UFC 216 main event vs. Tony Ferguson. Lee was the last fighter to go to the scale at Friday’s official weigh-in, and he came in at 156.

With the two-hour window already closed, it appeared as if Lee would lose his shot at the interim title. However, Lee was granted an additional hour to make the championship weight, per “Nevada State Athletic Commission rules.”

With time ticking away, “The Motown Phenom” hopped onto the scale with just minutes to go before the extended deadline, looking very drained as he weighed 154.5 lbs.

Tony Ferguson was 155 on the nose on the first try, so tomorrow’s main event is now official. We very nearly had yet another interim title fight in which one of the competitors missed weight.

Below are the full UFC 216 weigh-in results, and you can watch the ceremonial weigh-ins at the bottom of the page at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT. We will post the full official weigh-ins video later on in the day.
