Predators vs. Penguins 2017: Start time, TV channel for Game 1 of Stanley Cup final
The Stanley Cup Final is upon us, friends! It’s been a month and a half of non-stop hockey action, but the end is near.
The good news is that this year’s Stanley Cup Final matchup looks to be quite the dual between hockey powerhouses. Either the Pittsburgh Penguins and Nashville Predators will be the Stanley Cup champion, and both stories are quite something.
Pittsburgh looks to repeat as champions for the first time since the Detroit Red Wings did so in 1997-98. The Penguins had to win a double-overtime Game 7 against the Ottawa Senators to get back to the dance, but Chris Kunitz’s game winner sealed the deal.
As for the Predators, they bested the Anaheim Ducks in six games in the Western Conference Final. Nashville has sustained more than a few injuries to its potent offense, but it makes up for it in spades with Ryan Ellis, P.K. Subban, Roman Josi, and Mattias Ekholm anchoring the defense.
Matt Murray and Pekka Rinne are the expected starters for Game 1 on Monday.
