[Softball] Davenport Wins Softball Tournament

SYLVANIA, Ohio - (BRACKET) - Top-seeded Davenport took two games from Madonna to be crowned the 2017 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Softball Tournament. The Panthers won in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the eighth inning when Brianna Allen smacked a double to left field with two out. Haley Obetts singled to center, sending Allen home for the winning run and Davenport's fifth tournament title.

Both teams have qualified for the 2017 NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round. Davenport was selected as a host with the game set for Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. Pairings will be announced on Wednesday, May 10.
