Kevin Knox commits to Kentucky, gives John Calipari blue chip recruit on the wing
The Wildcats have landed a five-star wing on the recruiting trail.
Kevin Knox is going to Kentucky. The 5-star wing picked the Wildcats over North Carolina, Duke, Florida State and Missouri on Saturday afternoon.
Knox is a 6’9, 200-pound wing from Tampa Bay, Fla. He’s ranked as the No. 9 player in the class of 2016, according to ESPN. He’s won two gold medals with USA Basketball’s junior program and was named a McDonald’s All-American earlier this year.
Knox made the announcement on Twitter:

Knox will fit in nicely on a Kentucky team that already had four McDonald’s All-Americans in its incoming freshmen class before his commitment. The Wildcats have been missing a big, athletic small forward who can score from all three levels. That’s exactly what Knox projects to do.
Kentucky is still waiting on a decision from Hamidou Diallo, another five-star wing who joined the team mid-season but has declared for the NBA draft without an agent. If Diallo does return to school, Kentucky should have an absolutely loaded perimeter attack.
