[Football] Gold Tops Purple 27-7 in College of Idaho Spring Game
CALDWELL, Idaho – Connor Richardson passed for 138 yards and two scores and added 94 rushing yards and a touchdown, leading the Gold squad to a 27-7 victory over the Purple side in the 2017 College of Idaho Football Spring Game at Simplot Stadium.
The soon to be redshirt freshman led the Gold, comprised of the second and third-team offense and first-team defense, to touchdowns on all three of his drives, while the defense forced a pair of turnovers by Purple team, made up of the first-team offense and second and third-team defense.
After the Gold defense forced a punt after an 11-play drive, Richardson drove his squad 80 yards on eight plays – scampering 15-yards on a 4th-and-1 to prolong the drive, adding a 21-yard run and capping the drive with a 5-yard scoring run for a 7-0 lead.
