[Men's Basketball] Men's Basketball adds size to 2017 recruiting class with Jacob Pfeiffer
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — The ONU men's basketball team and head coach Ralph Hodge are very happy to announce their most recent addition to the 2017 recruiting class. The Tigers have added 6'8" post man, Jacob Pfeiffer, from Springfield, Illinois. He played for Springfield Lutheran High School all four years.
Olivet Nazarene is excited to add size to the frontcourt of its incoming class. Pfeiffer averaged 11.7 per game, adding 10.6 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game. He finished his senior season with 18 double-doubles. One of his career games came against Routt Catholic; he scored 24 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and recorded five blocks.
Following his senior season, Pfeiffer was named to the Speaks Basketball 8th Annual High School All-Star Game and the Heart of Illinois All-Star Game. During the season he was named to the New Berlin Thanksgiving and Waverly Christmas All-Tournament teams. In addition, he was named to the Illinois Prep Hoops- Illinois Class of 2017 Top Prospect List and was nominated for Illinois Prep Hoops-Player of the week in late November.
In addition to his career at Springfield Lutheran, Pfeiffer played AAU for the Illinois Bears (16-17U) and Illinois Irish (15U). He played various high-level events in Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana and Florida.
Pfeiffer plans on majoring in Engineering at Olivet. He was on the High Honor Roll all semesters and the Treasurer of Student Government. Jacob and his family attend St. John's Lutheran Church in Springfield, Illinois.
