Villanova has officially signed Saint Bonaventure transfer Darryl Simmons II, per release.
Nicknamed “Buddy,” Simmons will head to Villanova after one season with the Bonnies and two seasons at Gardner-Webb.
“Buddy is an experienced college guard who can score at all three levels,” said Villanova head coach Kevin Willard in the release. “His ability to stretch the defense as a 3-point threat will make an immediate impact on our team. We’re excited to welcome another gifted guard to Villanova.”
This past season at St. Bonaventure, Simmons averaged 16.4 points per game, while shooting 42.5% from three-point range.
A 5-foot-11 guard from Detroit, Simmons is a part of a six-player recruiting class at Villanova.
He joins four-star Adam Oummidoch, UIC transfer Elijah Crawford, Cornell transfer Jake Fiegen, Ohio State transfer Devin Royal and Oregon transfer Kwame Evans Jr., rounding out the Wildcats’ class thus far.
