DJ Wagner is headed to Maryland, a source confirmed to ZAGSBLOG.

The former five-star recruit out of Camden (NJ) High School committed to Maryland and will spend his senior season playing for the Terrapins.

Wagner’s commitment comes two days after he visited Maryland on Thursday. His hometown school, Villanova, was also heavily in the mix in his recruitment.

A former No. 1 recruit in his class and the MVP of the McDonald’s All-American Game, Wagner averaged 7.4 points and 2.4 assists last season under John Calipari. He played his freshman season for Calipari at Kentucky before following the Hall of Fame coach to Arkansas.

The 6-foot-3 Wagner will help fill join a revamped Maryland roster, which has already welcomed eight additional newcomers headed into next season.

Maryland has also landed five-star forward Baba Oladotun and Tennessee transfer guard Bishop Boswell, among its long list of transfers.

Maryland finished 12-12 and 17th in the Big Ten this season, failing to reach the NCAA Tournament in Buzz Williams’ first season as head coach in College Park.
