Newly-hired Arizona State head coach Randy Bennett announced that he’s experienced health issues since arriving to Tempe following his hiring last week. The announcements comes a few days after the program postponed Bennett’s introductory press conference after he began experiencing health issues.

In a statement released by Bennett, he said:

“Last week, when I arrived in Arizona, a health situation surfaced that I’m working through right now. I’m in good hands, we feel good about the plan, and I’m incredibly appreciative of the care I’ve received from the team at Mayo Clinic. Everything is under control, and I will be back at full strength very soon.”

Notably, Bennett added a sitting NCAA Tournament head coach to his staff late Sunday night, hiring California Baptist head coach Rick Croy as an assistant. The Sun Devils also added Joe Rahon, a former Saint Mary’s assistant, to its staff too.

Bennett’s health concerns are not expected to be long-term, according to reports.
