Hawks Add Proven Presence with Signing of Chase Jeter
The Big Barrel Hawks have added size, experience and a winning edge to their 2026 roster with the signing of American centre Chase Jeter.
A former elite prospect out of the United States, Jeter brings high-level pedigree having played for both Duke and Arizona during his collegiate career, before building a professional résumé across Europe and the NBA G League.
Jeter has most recently been competing in the NBA G League for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, where he produced a standout double-double performance of 16 points and 10 rebounds, highlighting his impact around the rim.
At 6’10”, Jeter is known for his physical presence, rebounding and ability to impact the game without needing the ball, a profile that aligns closely with the Hawks’ focus on building a balanced, winning group for 2026. His screening, rim running and defensive presence allow others around him to play to their strengths, while bringing stability and consistency to the frontcourt.
Across his professional career, Jeter has spent time in international leagues in Europe and Asia, gaining experience in high-performance environments where physicality, discipline and role execution are critical. That experience has helped shape him into a reliable interior presence who understands how to contribute within a team-first system.
Big Barrel Hawks General Manager Jarrod Kenny said Jeter brings a clear point of difference to the group. “Chase gives us presence inside and understands how to play the game at a high level mentally. He does the things that contribute to winning.”
Head Coach Will Lopez said Jeter’s fit within the system was a key factor in the signing. “He’s a guy who impacts the game without needing touches. He screens, rebounds and defends at a high level, which is exactly what we need from that position. He allows us to play with better balance, defend the paint and get out in transition. When you have a player like that, it brings structure to what you’re doing and helps drive winning habits across the group. He’s a connector, and those types of players are critical to building a team that can compete consistently.”
Jeter said he is looking forward to joining a team with a clear focus. “I’m excited to join the Hawks and be part of a group that’s focused on winning. I’m ready to get to work and do whatever the team needs.”
With the 2026 season marking 50 years since the first Hawks team took the court and 20 years since the club’s 2006 championship, the organisation has been clear in its intent to build a roster capable of competing at the top end of the league.
Jeter’s addition strengthens a Hawks group that continues to take shape with a clear focus on winning, bringing together players who complement each other and understand the level required to compete consistently.
Jeter now joins Alonzo Burton, Kobe Kara, Isaac Allan, Keanu Rasmussen, Clifton Bush III, Balin Casson, Dan Grida, Tommy Fergusson, Jacob Murphy and Ezrah Eagle as other rostered players signed to date for the 2026 season.
