Arizona’s Tommy Lloyd says UNC rumors won’t disturb his ‘full focus’

The head coach vacancy at North Carolina has the college basketball world in a frenzy. But the only madness Arizona’s coach is focused on is the NCAA Tournament.
Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd is determined to not let any distractions come between him and his team while they continue on their run through March.
“I already have one of the best jobs in the country,” Lloyd said to the media on Wednesday. “One thing we talk about all the time is the ability to have full focus and be present in the moment… I think we have a chance to advance in this tournament. This team deserves my full focus. There is not one thing that’s gonna knock me off that path”
Arizona will face off against John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks on Thursday in the Sweet 16. The Wildcats have been one of the best teams in college basketball all season and are looking to cap off their strong season with a trip to the Final Four.
The NCAA title game is April 6. The transfer portal opens on April 7, giving a tight window for UNC to attract any coach that has a deep run in the tournament.
Whether or not Lloyd will be interested in job at UNC will have to wait till Arizona’s season is over.
