Alabama’s Aden Holloway ‘removed from campus’ following arrest

Alabama guard Aden Holloway has been “removed from campus” following his arrest on charges of marijuana possession on Monday. Holloway is averaging 16.8 points per game this season and is the Tide’s second-leading scorer.

He was arrested on charges of first degree possession of marijuana, which is a felony in Alabama and was released on bond late Monday morning.

The school released a statement about Holloway’s situation on Monday,

“The University is aware of the allegations and is working to gather more information.  The student has been removed from campus pending further investigation by the UA Office of Student Conduct.”

Alabama head coach Nate Oats spoke on his weekly “Hey Coach” radio show about the situation that transpired Monday.

The team hasn’t announced Holloway’s status for its NCAA Tournament game against Hofstra on Friday,.

Holloway is in his second season with the Tide and has started in 27 of his 28 appearances this season.
