By ADAM ZAGORIA
Louisville freshman guard Mikel Brown Jr. (back) will be out for the entirety of the ACC Tournament with the goal of being ready for the NCAA Tournament, the school announced.
“Mikel wants to play in the ACC Tournament, but we believe it is best to have him continue his path of improvement and have him 100% for the first round of the NCAA Tournament,” Louisville head coach Pat Kelsey said. “He’s close and chomping at the bit to be out there with his teammates.”
The 6-foot-5 freshman averages 18.2 points, 4.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds.
Louisville faces SMU at 2:30 Wednesday in the ACC Tournament.
