Boston College head coach Earl Grant will not return next season, a source confirmed to ZAGSBLOG Sunday. Grant finished 72-92 in five seasons with the Eagles, including reaching the second round of the NIT in 2024.

The Eagles failed to qualify for this season’s ACC tournament and finished 4-14 in ACC play.

Grant arrived at Boston College in 2021 after seven seasons at the College of Charleston, replacing the Eagles’ former head coach, Jim Christian.

With the Boston College job opening on Sunday, several names in the northeast have been viewed as viable candidates. These names include Merrimack’s Joe Gallo, Central Connecticut State’s Pat Sellers, Clippers assistant Jay Larranaga and Yale’s James Jones.

The search will be led by athletic director Blake James, who previously worked with former Miami head coach Jim Larranaga at Miami, whose son has been mentioned as a candidate for the job.
