The freshmen class continues to impress with both its top-end talent and its depth.

Arkansas’ Darius Acuff is the latest to turn heads with his 49-point explosion in a double overtime loss to Alabama.

This performance has experts discussing where Acuff stands amongst the best of head coach John Calipari’s guards.

“He is the best guard that John Calipari has coached,” former NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins said “I’m not talking about NBA career, college career.”

While Acuff hasn’t garnered the national attention that the top-3 prospects for the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft Class has he has had as good of a showing as a prospect as anyone else has this season.

Acuff’s performance on Wednesday came shortly after being in a walking spot, according to Calipari.

The freshman razorback has averaged 22.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game this season for Calipari.

Only time will tell if this draft class will live up to its massive expectations.
