Texas Tech forward JT Toppin suffers season-ending torn ACL
BY ALEJANDRO LOPEZ
Texas Tech will have to move on without its star forward the rest of the season.
Red Raiders forward JT Toppin has suffered a season-ending torn ACL, the team announced on Wednesday. The injury came in the second-half of a Red Raiders loss to Arizona State on Tuesday.
Toppin’s injury marks a brutal loss for the Big 12 and college basketball as a whole. This news comes shortly after BYU star Richie Saunders also suffered a season-ending torn ACL.
Texas Tech is 19-7 on the season and 9-4 in conference play. Now, the season will get exponentially more difficult without their best player in an already brutal conference filled with talent.
