Syracuse women’s coach defends Red Autry amid criticism: ‘Can we try to be a little bit more positive?’

Things aren’t going well for the Syracuse Men’s Basketball team.
The Orange are 4-7 in ACC play and 13th in the conference after a 72-59 loss to Virginia on Saturday. In the midst of the team’s struggles the head coach of Syracuse’ Women’s team is calling on the fans to be supportive instead of critical.
“We got to press send with positivity,” head coach Felisha Legette-Jack said. “We get it, we see it, we all watch. But can you try Syracuse? Can we try to be a little bit more positive with the sport that’s struggling?”
The sentiment came after men’s head coach Red Autry faced criticism for benching freshman guard Kiyan Anthony for the first time this season.
The decision came shortly after Anthony’s father and Syracuse legend Carmelo Anthony posted a critical comment after the team’s loss to No. 14 North Carolina leading many to speculate on the reasoning behind Kiyan Anthony’s minutes being cut.
