Ann To Visit Wisconsin Next
BY ZACH SMART
Priding himself on a game synonymous with versatility and multi-positional defense, Class of 2027 guard/wing Baboucarr Ann continues to thrive as a go-to scoring option who impacts all categories of the game for 10-4 Maple Grove (MN) HS.
And while he is currently wide open on the recruiting market, Ann is coming off a significant visit to Minnesota.
“Their fluid offense really stood out to me when I was watching,” said Ann, who plays for D1 Minnesota on the AAU circuit.
“The game I went to (a 76-57 loss to No.7 Nebraska) had a lot of people come out for the game. I mean the arena was really rocking.”
Minnesota assistant coach Dave Thorson has been in active pursuit of Ann.
Thorson has sustained considerable ties to the local area, having been an assistant coach with the Gophers in the early 1990s and authoring sustained success at DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis.
Ann will visit Wisconsin this ensuing weekend, as the Badgers are slated for a matchup with Ohio State at the Kohl Center.
“Very excited to see Wisconsin play live, I can’t wait to see the environment they play in and how Coach (Greg) Gard is during games,” Ann said.
Beyond Wisconsin and Minnesota, Ann has been hearing from Notre Dame, Iowa State, Clemson, Stanford, Saint Louis, Oklahoma State, Florida State and others.
