Four-star guard Jasiah Cannady has committed to UMass Lowell, he announced on Tuesday. The 6-foot-1 guard from Mt. Zion Prep (MD) chose the Riverhawks over Mississippi State, Towson, Drexel and Coastal Carolina. He is the highest-ranked recruit in program history.
“It felt like the right place for me as soon as I stepped on campus,” Cannady told ZAGSBLOG.
Cannady – who spent his summer with Team Durant on the Nike EYBL circuit, averaged 12.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per game for his team.
UMass Lowell assistant coach Tee Johnson has targeted the DMV area for the Riverhawks’ recruiting, with Cannady being another recruit from the area to pledge to the program.
Cannady is head coach Pat Duquette and UMass Lowell’s first commit in the class of 2026.
He is ranked as a four-star recruit and a top-ten player in the state of Maryland, according to ESPN.
