Kansas freshman Darryn Peterson headlines 2026 Bob Cousy Award candidates

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has announced its watchlist for the prestigious Bob Cousy Award.
Kansas freshman and potential No.1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, Darryn Peterson, is among the 20 guards listed for the award thus far. The rest of the candidates are as follows:
Labaron Philon Jr.– Alabama
Darius Acuff Jr.– Arkansas
Tahaad Pettiford– Auburn
Robert Wright III– BYU
Boogie Fland– Florida
Milos Uzan– Houston
Stirtz Tamin– Iowa
Jaland Lowe– Kentucky
Mikel Brown Jr.– Louisville
Elliot Cadeau– Michigan
Josh Hubbard– Mississippi State
Markus Burton– Notre Dame
Bruce Thornton– Ohio State
Braden Smith– Purdue
Ja’Kobi Gillespie– Tennessee
Christian Anderson– Texas Tech
Donovan Dent– UCLA
Silas Demary Jr.- UConn
The Bob Cousy Award is given to the top point guard in Division I Men’s college basketball, a title that will be tightly contested this upcoming season.
