Four-star center Sam Funches commits to Gonzaga

Gonzaga landed a commitment from four-star center Sam Funches, ON3’s Joe Tipton announced on Friday. The 6-foot-11 center from Germantown HS (MS) chose the Bulldogs over Ole Miss, Mississippi State and LSU.
Funches recently visited Spokane on October 3rd for Gonzaga’s fall scrimmage, and joined a long list of former players to commit after visiting that scrimmage.
His 7-foot-5 wingspan is one of the longest in the class of 2026, with Funches holding the potential to become a crucial front court defender right away for Gonzaga.
Funches has been one of Gonzaga’s top priorities in the class of 2026, and has the chance to join a long-running history of skilled big men to play for the Bulldogs.
He is rated as a four-star recruit and ranked as ranked as the No. 84 overall prospect in the class of 2026, according to 247Sports.
